Title: Exhaust System Fault - any ideas?
Post by: berg on June 12, 2014, 11:33:21 pm
Hi guys, driving along dual carriageway tonight and as i flawed it in 4th gear out of roundabout car made slight noise and felt like it was being held back, almost like the tyres were scrabbling for grip on an uneven surface. then realised it was exhaust fault when symbol started flashing on the dash.

slowed down and then on fulll throttle at 2500 rpm in 5th it would do it again, like exhaust gases struggling to get out as you pressed the loud pedal more.

any ideas - lamda sensor? i have full 3" pipewerx tbe.

He's gauging at throttle body death with that promotion.. If so you'll most likely have the EPC light on with reduced power... Replace with revision Q or later, its a bit of pita to swap due to location but a relatively easy DIY, did mine for £70... Been good for 6 months at stage 2.

hi guys, no EPC light did not show up just the emissions control one in that list there, it flashed for 30 seconds or so then went off.

I have oem pcv on as sold the BSDH upgrade but it is not the latest revision. It felt like you were scrabbling round in mud,

So what we thinking more likely to be PCV than throttle body?

coil packs?

Mines died in this way when one of the coils packed in (no pun intended)

If the engine light is flashing then its a misfire.
