Title: unusual sound

Folks

Any help to identify would be much appreciated.

Standard 05 DSG GTI on start up (especially from cold) i have recently been getting a rattle sound on idle - it seems to go away when i drive.

Initially i assumed exhaust but when i rev it it doesnt reverberate or increase. To me (ignorant of course) it sounded like maybe a heat shield or something rattling but this morning i felt it was coming from deeper inside the car's sound.

It doesnt appear to be as easily heard from outside on idle either.

Have a read about the fuel line rattle, could be this.

Could be can chain tensioner away

I have a similar rattle on idle but it's only sometimes and always seems to be when it's hot...

Both my dsg boxes have rattled a bit on idle too.
