Hi, looking for help, fitted mk6 steering wheel into my mk5 gti, along with mk6 cruise control stalk and 'ch' module, everything works ok apart from no horn now, it was working right up till removed old steering wheel. Checked fuse its ok

It is quite common for the wires into the left sided buttons to become loose when removed.
Only way to check is remove the left sided buttons, open up the plastic casing and see if one of the skinny black wires has detached from the internal plug.
Seen this with two used mk6 MFSW's.

also a small round plug for grounding where the wire is very short, can come lose, did when i fitted the mk 6 mfsw in the wifes touran

When you remove the airbag a small round plug is fitted to a steel ring on the steering wheel itself, it loosens as you remove the airbag as the wiring for it is extremely short.

Danish, your my hero, I remember seeing that wire when I was fitting the wheel, and thought it was taped up as an ancilliary wire for something else, I will go and fit it now, thanks

I'm eager to remove, and check the wiring tomorrow as well. I was in a rush to do the swap.
All 12 buttons work, except for the horn in my case.
