Right I know you need a loom if you want to run xenons on a non xenon car.
But say I wanted to take them off a xenon car and fit normal ones is this hard?
Is the wiring different is it do-able etc...
-
Why would you want to do that?
I'd imagine you'd use the same adaptor loom just back to front.
You won't have headlight adjustment control in the car for sure.
And you'd possibly need to code out the Xenons with VCDS
-
I doubt there is many people requiring that loom
Thought it would be like that. Didn't know if when fitted from factory they just add in a loom I could just remove.
Anyone else know for certain?
-
AFAIK youd have to chop the loom up yourself. No point really.
-
Ah nightmare.
Only reason I know a guy chopping in his jetta that had xenons.
So was gonna try swap them with my non xenons
-
did you ever do this? have a similar idea with a trade in and want to do the same!
-
I actually prefer the look of the dark none zenons personally
My Gti has zenons my missus Gt tdi has normal but dark/tinted lenses both black cars and i much prefer the look of hers plus i drive both cars alot at night and honestly can't say i see the improvement of vision with Zenons plus if bulb goes in hers - simple cheap job where as with mine expensive nightmare!
If it was a simple swap id do it and sell my Gti zenon kit for sure but as said its tricky because no level control switch etc in the Gti :surprised:
