As above lads?
At the mo I'm using Autoglym intensive tar remover which does work well but worried it may be too harsh?
-
Why are you using tar remover for bird poo?
Wet microfibre is fine.. soak it first hot water helps too.. use quick detail spray or something.
-
Because it is still, hard work to get off!
I do have some quick detail, I'll try that.
Cheers

Firstly, as soon as you see bird doo on your motor don't ignore it and think i'll clean that off tomorrow, get straight to it lad! :jumping:
Secondly you only need a quick detailer. Spray on the offending mess and leave for 1 minute - i guarantee it will come off easily and the method of removal will be of no harm whatsoever to your paintwork. :pomppomp:
If doo doo is hard to remove its because you've allowed it to bake on which is a no-no for any self respecting car enthusiast! :fighting2:

Cheers guys, unfortunately sometimes its on there till the next day and in this heat :-(

The Autoglym bird dropping wipes or Poorboys bird sh*t remover both work well. I also always keep baby wipes and nappy bags in the boot too.
-
Might try the baby wipes, AG wipes would run out in a week..
-
I keep a small 100ml sprayer bottle of Meg's Last Touch (quick detailer) and a microfiber towel in my glovebox just for bird droppings so I can wipe em fresh. If you let them droppings sit too long they can and will leave permanent marring to the clearcoat that can only be removed by machine polishing ie. removing the damaged clearcoat..
-
Soak it to soften it. Then I'd rather use a contact less method to remove. Jet wash or even a small handheld pressure sprayer. I wouldn't be scraping any kind of bird crap off with any kind of wipe.
-
I use this, but car does need a wash after using it. Don't know if it's the best, but gives good results.

Shotgun works a treat… stop it at the source.
I do believe that there is a bird club where birds discuss who has just cleaned their car and how many hours has been spend getting the perfect shine, they then decide to perform an aerial assault on our cars.
Mine was parked in the Garage with the garage door open the other week and one of the fighter pilot ace actually got my car… :surprised:

I had an eagle or something sh*t on my bonnet on the way home today. Good job it wasn't a brief moment later, as the top was down on the Boxster. Got the hose straight out when I got home.
