Title: kangaroo-ing in 2nd gear when in automatic
Post by: downsideup on June 17, 2014, 10:08:44 am
I have a slight problem that my car kangaroos a bit while in traffic in 2nd gear. The gearbox seems to go from 1st to 2nd gear too quickly then struggles at slow speed.

I only notice this in slow traffic, all other times all the gears are fine.

I am hoping this is not a Mechatronic problem!

What year is the car? Could be worth doing a dsg reset.

It is a 2007 edition 30/

I am going to drive it around in manual for a bit as I have heard that it can learn your driving habits.

I think it is only happening because it goes into 2nd too early.

Well I know some of the 2007 models did have mechatronic issues.

Sounds just like mine - I had to get the Mechatronic unit replaced!

I heard this can be expensive but sometimes VM will reduce the cost.

Will they?

Try a DSG Reset first and see if that cures it. Just need to find someone local to you with VDCS/Vag Com or take it to a VW dealer and get them to do it.
