Title: Possibly buying a GTI
Post by: K1NGY14 on June 21, 2014, 07:20:15 pm
Hi everyone!

I am Jordan and I'm from Warrington and I'm currently on the hunt for the perfect GTI.

If anyone has any advice on what to look out for then that would be great!

Also does anyone know which Golfs come with the IPod cable in the glove box? And if it doesn't come with the car, can it be fitted?

From my searching mate it seems some came with a connection in the glovebox or armrest but apparently they aren't very good? Don't display things on the screen or something like that, then there's a MDI iirc that's all signing and dancing which can be retrofitted

Yeah sorry it was in the armrest I was on about, doh! So how do you get to choose your tracks on your iPod?  :ashamed:

Welcome. Yea I have an iPod hook up in my armrest, but I never use it at all.  I use a KUDA mount from the US.  I have more people overlook it as they think it came from the factory...

They ship to the UK as well, should be about 30 quid or so.

just swopped my armrest cd changer for an Audi Ipod adapter, straight swop, works ok, apart from putting an Audi symbol on my Ipod! You have to organise your Ipod into 6 playlists to simulate 6 CD's or I think you can just have it on 'MIX'. Think its only later cars with the 310/510 headunits that will accept the better MDI?
