Hot. Loosens dirt better

Do people do the washing up with cold water?

Hot water. Moreso in winter and when there's tree sap on the paintwork.

I've seen a program where a pro that details super cars washes them at 37 degrees.

Anyway I'd say warm water is good enough

Cold pre wash spray then warm bucket wash.

Cold pressure wash then hot, in hot I mean as hot as I can take it on my hands comfortably. Lets face it anything you can put your hands in without burning them isn't going to harm your car, also if the front end is badly splattered with bugs and stuff I'll chuck a bucket of hot over it and leave for a few mins before pressure washing as I find it helps soften things up a bit.

I use warm water in winter and just cold in the summer, saves time filling the buckets!
