Just a quick hello from me.
New to this forum but been around the VAG scene for more years than I can remember........
Currently running an E46 M3 but it's still not gelled after nearly a year, so looking to change to a Mk5 GTi in the next month or so and get back to where I belong!! Will be doing some serious lurking around the modifying section!!
Adios 4 now....

Hi Gaz.
Yes it's me, loved the S3 but a change in circumstances last year meant it had to go. Got the M3 in December which is a lovely piece of kit, but only seems to make sense to me when totally I'm totally 'on it'. It's a 2002 E46 and I've done some minor mods, but I'm a VAG (and 911) junkie at heart so will be selling it soon and going for a mk5 GTi as I haven't had one yet and I really liked my Mk5 R32. Planning to get a good grey or black early GTI, then over the next 6-12 months modify it with the usual gubbins plus a K04 upgrade at some point.
Your S3 still looks the dogs, anymore plans for that?

hello pab, good to hear from you. The S3 has had a few more mods Revo stg2+, APR pump,ITG intake to name a few, think thats it to be honest, might change the H&R springs for some coilovers next year. Mk5 GTI's a great choice as you well know you must have driven a few :driver:

Bet it flies, especially as it wasn't to shabby before!!!
I reckon the Mk5 GTi is one of the best out of the box cars VW ever made, is even better when it's tweaked. My favorite to drive was an '05 that had been K04'd plus other mods, it pulled like a train and was great to drive. Not sure what mods it will get yet as I have only just started looking into it, but am quietly confident the list will be extensive. Can't quite stretch to an ED30 at the moment so will get a GTI and turn it into a proper tarmac shagger over the next 12 months!!

Hi Pabs
Missing your APR Stage 3 TT??
Saw my old beast at Awesome a while back.
Like you I nearly went for an M3 but returned to an Ed 30 which the guys at Awesome have done a few tweaks !
Marvellous car...done a few track outings and was the first they did using the KW Clubsports....brilliant bit of kit....no need for ARB's!
Just need a diff and big brakes to get sub 1.20 at Combe aiming for 1.18 ish.
How many miles has your M3 done?
Do you find it peaky with less mid range oomph?
Chassis is good when new but when tired or biggish miles I found are a bit soogy on the E46's
Good to hear from you

Hi Ian,
Not missing it at all, don't get me wrong the TT was brilliant but I was hardly using it and it was time to move on.
Sounds like you ED30 is coming on well, The tuned ones I have driven have been pretty impressive, that's why I'm getting a GTI and will end up going for a K04 upgrade at some point.
I got the M3 at 48k and it's just past the 60k mark, plus I had the Insp II service done last week so everything is spot on!! Plenty of power and it pulls strongly from 1500rpm. It's is a great car, 340+ bhp as standard and I added Powerflex bushes and Eibach springs to tighten it up, plus a few cosmetic changes. Like I said above, I just haven't got the BMW bug so will be selling it soon to make way for the Mk5.
