Post by: No1gooner on June 24, 2014, 06:07:19 pm
Hi all!
After getting what I thought was a high quote from the VW dealership for a cambelt and waterpump change I went to a trusted family inde for a quote his said he'll to full cambelt kit tensioners pulley's etc, waterpump + re anti freeze and do the auxiliary belt and flush and re new break fluid for £470 VW wanted £519 just for the cambelt and waterpump, do you think £470 is a good price for everything I'm getting done?

Yeah that sounds a decent price. My indy just charged me £440 for a cambelt, v-belt and water pump change. Add in the fact you are getting brake fluid change, I would say you won't get much better than that.

+1 I paid £450 for the above at an indy, which included new coolant

It's a lot of work but it's a good investment.
