Title: Munich Trip... any suggestions?
Post by: Frodo-anni on June 24, 2014, 09:32:53 pm
In mid July I shall be making my first visit to Germany. Originally had planned to drive and do a road trip, but having recently got engaged the costs were mounting. So now doing 5 days in munich.

I already have tickets for the 'Red Bull Extreme Fighters' - http://www.redbull.com/uk/en/motorsports/offroad/events/1331623645758/red-bull-x-fighters-world-tour-munich

Any other suggestions, not all motor related please, as it two couples going. Have put the BMW museum on the shortlist but this has not gone down to well with the mrs  :signLOL:

This is a great bier garten to visit http://www.augustinerkeller.de/en/Beer_garden.htm (http://www.augustinerkeller.de/en/Beer_garden.htm)  and the beer is delicious.  :drinking:

For musems, this place is incredible, you can loose days inside. http://www.deutsches-museum.de/en (http://www.deutsches-museum.de/en)

A guided walking tour of the centre is a great way to spend a few hours and learn the history.

If you fancy a trip out into the mountains Mittenwald is spectacular https://www.google.co.uk/#q=mittenwald (https://www.google.co.uk/#q=mittenwald) couple of hours by train towards the austrian border but the views from the train make the time fly.

If your heading up to the BWM tour, the BMW Welt is worth a look as is the olympic park just over the footbridge.  https://goo.gl/maps/hlPUj (https://goo.gl/maps/hlPUj)

Enjoy it's a great city
