Right then guys and gals, had an odd intermittent stutter the last few weeks and have just discovered that the rubber gromet on the pipe circled wasn't sealing properly, can anyone tell me what it does and whether it could cause the issue in question?

Just as a side note, the following parts are brand new:
Diverter valve
coilpacks
spark plugs
just been serviced

2007/57 gti dsg

No lights coming up on dash

had codes read before came up misfire, hence coilpack replacement

Everyone could be near you....or no one. Without a location its pretty impossible to tell!

hi I'm new here but have been a mechanic for more years than I like to recall the item you have highlighted looks like the vacuum pipe from the vacuum pump which shouldn't really give any stutter problems by leaking as they are not in any way connected to the inlet tract but i have known the vac pumps to seize get it lookd at asap
