Hi I'm currently running stage 1 on my gti at 242bhp I have since added an intake and next is the decat downpipe.
Before I go ahead with stage 2 I was wondering if I added an s3 intercooler and also an uprated fuel pump what difference in results I'd get? Or should I just stick with the basic stage 2 mods. Thanks in advance to anybody who has any info.
I'm thinking k04 in the long run but for now I want to see how far I can take the k03! Thanks
-
I have same kind of setup in my mind, atm I have S3 cooler and MTC intake installed. I will also install Milltek downpipe and Autotech hpfp internals. Wondering also what else should I install before I have my car adjusted in dyno. With ko3 is there need for S3 injectors? Eventually I think ko4 will be the way, but not right now..
-
I think similar then if I go for k04 more of the setup is ready. Wondering how close to 300bhp you can get on k03. I know they run out of boost high up the revs
-
Are you running a decat for high flow? Which dv have you got too? Have you changed the pcv?? Sorry for question but thinking about goin straight to stage2.
-
I run a bluefin stage 1 currently which is good but lacking in a lot of ways..
My plan is the intake next, then miltek sport cat downpipe. Looking to take it in to R-Tech to get stage 2 minimum but I was also wondering what else I would need to do to push it to stage 2+.
I realise brakes are going to need an upgrade at that power so that is also on the list.
How neccessary is it to upgrade HPFP?
-
R-tech say they have never needed a upgraded HPFP for ko3 stage 2+ niki said he only ever recommends them on ko4 stage 2+ , the ceiling limits of a ko3 stage 2+ even with the best flowing parts and map is around 290 bhp
-
I don't see me ever feeling the need to upgrade to KO4 so not needing the HPFP is good news.
So the list will be:
Intake (probably ITG)
Brakes (S3/R32)
Milltek sports cat downpipe
Is the intercooler completely neccessary before the map then?

300hp is just about possible...

Best I've seen was I think 285 from Niki on a Cupra R,
S3 cooler
Intake
Full TBE
I got my stage 2 mapping on 8th July @ about 108k on stock k03s with decat (stock rear section) and intake so see how that goes!!
If I get a safe stable torque 260bhp I'll be happy.

Who's Tuning it Jay? Are you getting the DSG done at the same time?

So hpfp not needed for stage 2+

Rtech are, and yeah getting DSG map at same time, cost is £500 :)

Great choice :happy2:
Haven't read an R-Tech K03 review for a while, looking forward to your feedback mate
So hpfp not needed for stage 2+
Doesn't sound like it for R-Tech. Revo & APR do need it
-
Ok thanks for that I'm going to get mine booked in at r tech aswell then
-
:) It was either Rtech or Ptorque, my mate Michael recommended Ptorque but unfortunately they wanted an extra £150 in total, just not worth that extra for me personally
Got a new PCV on recently, have a Revision G already but going to replace that for the map as best practise anyway... see how it goes! :driver: :driver:

Odd that they told me two weeks ago for stage 2+ I would need an uprated fuel pump for my K03. For stage 2 you don't.
-
So hpfp not needed for stage 2+
Yes... you do really need HPFP for stage 2+. Without it it wont be as strong.

Autotech are ok... but LOBA is preferable.
