I need some advise, ive got a standard GTI and want to skip stage 1 mapping and go straight to stage 2......
Whats the minimum i need to do for a stage 2????
I dont really want to change the exhaust and dv as i want to keep it oem sounding
Any advice would be greatly appreciated :happy2:
Cheers folks!

Good luck

You HAVE to change your exhaust, need a downpipe with a 200 cell or less really. Why do you want to keep it OEM? OEM blows mate.
The standard exhaust doesnt sound that great.

I thought i might have to but i was just wondering if i had to.
its my daily driver and i drive a lot of miles so i just want it to be like a normal car with some poke to it!

Update your DV to the Rev G, check your PCV and Cam follower etc.
Get a stage 1 map and see how you go, no other mods are required for that. The jump from stock to stage 1 is MASSIVE. After Stage 1 its a case of ever increasing expense for ever diminishing returns re power/torque.
Happy modding.

Cheers for the help there mate, :happy2: i will probably take that advice and see how i get on, ive found a more local tuning company called Automotive Diagnostic Solutions based in Preston and another company called VolkService in blackpool so i might go to them and then any tweaks can be made as and when i upgrade parts.

Mine has bluefin stage 1 (not my purchase, came with the car). On and off, the difference is like night and day! That will give you the extra poke with minimal effort.
Not the best map though... mine is DSG so I really could do with the DSG mapping but I plan to take mine to stage 2 at least anyway and live local to R-Tech

Yeah ive been told it completely changes the GTI into a whole different beast.... cant wait to get mine mapped now!
