Post by: Chris92 on June 28, 2014, 07:59:35 pm
Just came across this and was wondering what's peoples thoughts of it, is it something worth buying?

Yeah me to, I've had a few stones etc hit the bottom of the front of the car and as we know there isn't any protection to the sump etc. So no one got this?

Recently took my plastic one off as it had ripped out on a car park metal tooth thing, this is a bit pricey though

The bluemotion full under tray is cheaper (around £26) and will do almost as good a job. (1K0 825 237 P )

If referring to the BM undertray then you will also need 3 M6X20 hex socket head bolts (pn 1K0 825 951)

I know that man, i can read!!!

I just wasnt sure if it was a universal part number, because if I rang SEAT asking about it they'd tell me to fook off if it was a VW part number  :stupid:

The under tray is applicable to the mk5 &6 golf models.
I can't remember if Mike had one on his Cupra so hopefully he'll be along shortly to elaborate if he can.

Nice one mate cheers

So do I just need the undertray and those 3 screws mentioned earlier??

Will I have to re-use the original screws for the rest of it?

Will the Bluemotion undertray cover the S3 jacking points?  :popcornsoda:

Will the Bluemotion undertray cover the S3 jacking points?  :popcornsoda:

I have the earlier Audi lift pads installed (same position that the S3 ones would fit) and my under tray doesn't foul it in any way.

I'm going to order one of these then regret it when trying to fit it. Although on my old diesel I perfected the art of using my leg to hold it up while I got some bolts in to secure it.

Possibly a stupid question, but would this help aero flow under the car much? Kind of assuming so as it's on the bluemotion...

Yes it improves underbody aerodynamics as well as keeping crap out of the engine compartment.
Another plus point is it quietens the engine noise in the car's interior.

I already have a full under tray from a TDI.

Is the blue motion one made of metal?

Pretty sure it's plastic.

Pretty sure it's plastic.

So it wouldn't be of any benefit really for me...  the plastic one defo saves my bacon. Although I'd like to see a full under tray cover the subframe bolts too.. mine are ground out..

PS was it you I met at Alex's? Recognise the car .

Give PSI Tuning a shout, I spoke to them the other day about products from ECS, they listed them on the website the very next day so I could order it!

R32? I had an R32 and the undertray didn't look like that, it was flat...

Believe it's to do with noise of diesel engine.
No biggy you can bolt them up very easily.

You sure that part no for the blue motion one is correct as it comes up as a 2 litre petrol non turbo one on ETKA ??
