Hey guys, hoping someone can help, I currently have a non oe pcv on my car at the moment as when I bought the car not long ago the pcv was so bad I needed a new one ASAP and none of the suppliers had an oe one in stock and was desperate for one so unfortunately had to buy an aftermarket pcv. I'm toying with the idea of getting the revo pcv delete. Has anyone got one and if so, is it worth it? Does it put more strain on the rear pcv and does anyone has issues with how the car runs or boost issues? I'm so confused because if they were that good, how come every tfsi owner hasn't got one already? I really don't like the idea of a catch can either so in hoping someone would kindly give me the info I need. Thank you so much in advance and sorry for the lengthy post I just can't seem to find the yes no answer I really need.

You're right on your assumptions about how worthy they are and why they aren't popular. From past discussions on the various forums, it's been said that even VW Cup racing spec cars run an OEM PCV as it's perfectly fine.

High pressure fuel pump (HPFP) cam followers are known to fail if not replaced every 20-40K miles (on un-tuned engines). There's a fairly good guide on here about changing it, I did the job myself and it took 45 minutes and is easy enough. While you're doing the PCV you may as well get the HPFP cam follower too then you can have total peace of mind.

Thank you so much for the quick reply. I have already had the cam follower replaced, was one of the first few things I had to do. Well you certainly gave me the info I needed, I will give it a miss then and just get a latest revision oe pcv and if need be just replace it every year as a service item as I want my gti to run as best as possible. :happy2:

I replaced mine as mine was completely clogged full of gunk . Seems to be about the look sometimes. I.e.if used run an induction kit it looks better with the pcv blank

You won't need to replace it much, if at all! Just fit and forget, another reason for OEM PCV.
