Good job ATC had activated the traffic lights on the A15............
This is why I hate flying in multinational events! :fighting:

If you look at the end of the vid as it's in super slow motion, it looks like the wheels are retracting. Would that mean he was aborting the landing?

Nah its just the way the F16 gear sits, theres lots of discussion on the forums about it being a low approach, but evidently it wasn't. The fence is very close to the runway threshold with an aircraft having clipped the fence in recent years leading to the fence being painted red/white
So everybody is slagging off the pilot who just made a normal approach, they then set about air traffic who has no control over anything outside the fence, the only thing is that there is a traffic light to stop traffic when aircraft are on approach, but that doesnt affect people....
So its dangerous and technically they shouldn't be there observing, but all the police can do is ask them to move along - they can say no
better illustrated with this three view

True about the wheel configuration and pesky spotters but not about his landing.
It was too low and too fast which he openly admitted himself. So much for flying by the numbers.
If we manage to get a Boeing 707's gear over that fence with approx 100ft clearance then a F16 should have no problem at all!

Coz display pilots always land abeam the GP aerial..........
Fair enough and if you've spoken to the guy not going to get into a pi$$ing contest..... must be 12 years since I was last in there in a KingAir, been to a lot of airfields since and I remember that fence fairly vividly.
Not convinced he was fast, he was adding power I thought...might take another listen

That is brilliant. Impressive. :scared:

Ha, the good old King Air.......I personally always loved the Dominie!
My comments weren't meant to seem like a pi$$ing contest so I apologise if that's how they came across! :ashamed:
Now I've re-read them they do seem a little :fighting:
Sorry!
