Title: Revo CAI vs ITG CAI
Post by: berg on July 08, 2014, 01:15:19 pm
Has anyone switched from ITG to Revo? Think MC71 has and prefers the sound of the Revo but was mnore interested if anyone had done any logs to confirm whether the Revo actually flows better or because they are both premium kits are they much of a muchness?

Yeah I've just looked he swapped from a evoms to cam coated revo and gained 9bhp and 20lbft torque that was on a leon cupra if I'm correct!

Highly recommend one I do, just try and get one with the new shape heatshield which is a 'U' shape rather than a hole cutout where the tube passes through as this reduces chances of rubbing which I had on my first and second kit from PSI tuning but Adrian is a top bloke and replaced both kits for the newest kit free of charge!

Hope that helps!

Swapped from ITG to Revo & not sure I felt any difference.

Prefer that there are less joints in the Revo. Prefer the front heat shield and that it comes with a heat resistant coating  :happy2:

This is making me want to rip out my APR carbon intake and K&N filter and put a Revo intake on. Combined with the War of the Brakes thread and an offer from AmD Tuning with Bilstein suspension, I'm pretty much broke before I've been paid.

Revo have released the newer version of the intake, they told us it gives a better flow compared to the original one but I can't see how as the diameters seem to be the same as the original one. Only thing that looks different to me is the black plastic heat shield thingy.

Interesting that Revo's changed the original design of the heat shield and seems to have dispensed with the underside insulation foam.

Yeah this is the version 3 heatshield no rubbing etc! Best one IMO! I've had the second one without foam and it rubbed like a b****!  :sad1:

Sorted now though!

Mind you there doesn't seem to be any rubbing with my original one.

I fecking hope so, my heatshield has nearly worn a hole right through where it rubs the metal part of the filter. Only spotted it yesterday, will need a new filter too, not impressed to say the least.

The intake is a cracking piece of kit but that heatshield is sh*t, well p*ssed off..  :fighting:

The people who  have had issues with it, are you on oem engine mounts. Allowing lots of movement?

^^^^ Yeap side mounts are OEM. Will ask Alex's opinion on this when I see him next.

Save £200+, build your own to exactly how you want/like it. Never had an issue with mine, performs superb, correct maf scaling as used a forge maf pipe, flows brilliant, no rubbing and sounds the nuts  :innocent:

Might invest in doing this, using a BMC carbon enclosed filter, the Forge MAF pipe and various silicon tubing in between. I want an enclosed system (not open cone like Revo, EVOMS ect.) but don't want to fork out £400... But the Revo intake is highly rated.
