So after some digging about and research + advise, I discovered that AmD Tuning are offering Bilstein suspension kits with free fittings (saving about £250ish, apparently). More info here;
http://www.amdtuning.com/news.read.cfm?articleid=5226
So anyway, I'm wondering if it's worth replacing the suspension top mounts (both front and rear) when changing the dampers and springs as a matter of cause (regardless of whether it's replacement OEM items or full coil-overs). If so, are there recommended ones to uses with after market suspension or just some OEM replacements from the normal parts distributors (Febi by Bilstein for example)?
Many thanks!

Most on here including myself replace with TT/RS3 top mounts mate and there much stiffer than oem gti
-
Have you got the part numbers to hand for all the bits I'd need? Also, prices I can expect to pay?
Are the TT/RS3 mounts for both front and rear?
-
Here you go :happy2:
TT/RS3 Top Mounts 8J0 412 331
Bearings for Top Mounts 6N0 412 249 C
Bolts N 101 277 07

Cheers mate. Just modified my original question! :P

You may find that when removing old top mounts, the studs the nuts go on to will start turning and you will have to chisel/grind them off
-
My original top mounts spun and had to be grinded off when I first fitted the Coilovers late last year, when I swapped them out for rs3 mounts last month with the new suspension kit they undone easily. Most probally because they were only 6 months old. Rs3/TT mounts are definitely much better than oem gti ones.
I paid about £53 iirc for the whole lot from TPS

Cool, that's a good price, seeing as ECS tuning sell a front mount kit for £100... Might drop a few quid your way and ask if you can pick me up a set from TPS? :happy2:

No need to do the rear, front only :booty:

Also seen ecs tuning for £100 and thought sh*t that's pricey wonder what tps or europarts charge so I got a mate to order mine through there works trade account, £53 was a good text message to receive when £100 nearly left my wallet :happy2:
*EDITED*

Ah, fair enough. Might have to swing by the local Audi dealer with those part numbers and see how much they'll rape me.
-
Haven't you got TPS or europarts near you?
-
I got a Euro Car Parts near, yeah... Will get on the website and search in a bit. I'm being slow and stupid tonight...

Is it;

2 Bearings
6 Bolts

I also assume that I'd be much better walking into my local Euro Car Parts and speaking with someone and giving them the part numbers on a bit of paper?

Looks pretty good until you look at the price, but kind of suits my needs perfectly.

So far PSI Tuning have quoted £110+VAT+PP (I reckon a final price of about £150), which seems pretty fair to me.
