Hi, just wondering if anyone can help me tried topping my oil up today to find my oil filler cap is missing half of it? Well looks like the top half which you twist is missing?
I will get a picture today and upload it

Not an unheard of occurrence.
Get it off with a pair of mole grips. Is your engine cover secure?
-
Sorted it taped it off with a screwdriver and replaced with a new genuine one £7
Strange that ive lost the top half though and yer engine cover is tight
-
Mine also has a tendency to do this but I've been lucky and found it hiding in the engine bay, I should really get a new one
-
It's either the engine cover which has come loose due to one of the pegs has snapped or a rubber bung has split - Or the bonnet fireblanket has come a drift and grabbing the cap, check for an impression in the blanket.
Normally the engine cover though, take it off and check the pegs and rubber bungs. :happy2:

Mine seems to do this every now and again, I keep looking at porsche ones to replace but everytime I opt for something else. Car doesn't drink oil though so it's not used to much :drinking:

I believe it's the excess engine movement on oem engine mounts. When the engine rocks back and forth the top of the cap can get caught on the engine cover. As far as I understand anyway.
It happened to me too. Not happened since removing engine cover
