Title: New battery for GTI
Post by: Bennz on July 13, 2014, 10:02:32 am
My car is about 6 years old with OEM battery and i am preparing to replace it soon.

Do I need to get the battery with same spec or a stronger one ( with better CCA) would be suitable ?
Current one is 70ah 340A DIN 570A EN/SAE

I noticed today some white corrosion on the negative terminal connector.. Which I m going to clean it up . Is it a natural occurring or something is up with the battery ?

I got this one recently as my original battery was dying.

Still holding 12v+ after a few days on the drive, can't go wrong at that price.

If the battery is leaking I'd look at getting it replaced. It (in short) is basically a build up of internal pressure that leaks out from the weakest point, which generally is the terminal posts. As for the CCA, just get one like for like.

How would I know if it's leaking?
