help, while trying to update I think the disc I used to put the file on has corrupt half way through :S the unit has been stuck like this for more than an hour and the disc isn't spinning.
I was trying to put the 276x software on its a version c 510 with star key at the top
what can I do?? I've tried holding the 2 arrow buttons together but it didnt work!

Do you have the swl cd to recover?
-
No I have taken the battery on and off though and it now seems to be loading on the screen below!

+1
Also 2760 is not recommended for earlier units, 3810 would be better.

I'm only trying to get the 7 digit postcode entry to work :( which software version will do that?
-
Think that started with version 3810 but I stand to be corrected.
-
think your right I need the newer software! :( out of dvd's now will get one and have a go tomorrow, out of interest do i need a newer map version for it to work?
-
Think you need V8 maps and later plus appropriate firmware for the full post code input.
-
Sorry for the late reply. Only just seen your PM.
For 7 digit Search you need 268X firmware or higher AND V7 or higher maps. It's not one or the other.
268X, 272X, 276X, 280X, 281X, 380X and 381X firmware should all work on that unit. (I just put the X as the last digit changes depending on the make of car. So for example VW is 2680 Skoda is 2684 but it's the same firmware loaded from the same disc.) If it stops again and the unit hasn't bricked (shouldn't happen unless it stops during the CAN Gateway upgrade) i would suggest re burning the Firmware onto a Branded DVD +R (Verbatim are the best bet) at the slowest possible speed. I have seen some units just be fussy over CD & DVD.
