Hi all,
Just want to ensure I'm not confusing this with an issue or the normal sound.
I noticed a woosh sound when I press the accelerator while driving ( sound is audible when window is down ) . It comes when accelerating fast and can't be heard when engine is not under pressure. It stops when accelerator pedal is released.
Is this the normal turbo spooling or faulty DV ?

Does the turbo in these cars make sound as well or it is relatively quite ? Will check the DV shortly

Mine is stage 1 DSG with rev G DV which was done not too long ago. I get the same woosh
-
check your DV, will prob have split. any loss of performance?
-
Has it got a induction kit fitted?
-
Mine does a woosh sound but it has an induction kit on it.
-
The car is fully stock . I don't think I have performance loss but unfortunately I don't have access to another mk5 GTI to confirm .
Does the turbo in these engines makes audible spooling up sound ?

Get live logging with vcds under load.. but most likely nothing...if the performance isnt affected. Any overboost/underboost would cause limp mode anyway..visual inspection or remove dv valve quick check..
-
Thanks all . Don't have VCDS but going to check the DV soon

Thus happened to me and it was the dv loosing boost, I changed it for a metal piston style one from awsome gti and it made all the difference
