Right had stage 1 map installed on Saturday and this morning on the motorway the car seems to have gone into limp mode. Firstly the esp and skidding car lights came on and now the engine light aswell. I know it could be many things and need to get it scanned but just wondered if anyone else has had this sort of issue?
-
VCDS scan.
-
Sounds like the throttle body but as above get it scanned
-
Getting it scanned where it was mapped tomorrow. Not sure it's throttle body as it just seems there's no boost! Everything else is running ok.
-
Have you tried it without the map?
But it does sound like TB mate :( It won't boost properly when it's knackered - you'd definitely get it scanned before changing it though, as they ain't cheap... replace with Rev Q or newer (eBay between £70-£100), new I think they are about £300+VAT+Fitting.
But defo. get a member to scan it for some beer tokens, where abouts are you? :happy2:
-
Great! More money lol. Coincidence or a result of mapping? Should be able to fit it myself should I need to.
-
Yeah, it's a DIY but just a bit tricky getting to all the heads with its location - or maybe it was just my pork fingers. :ashamed:
-
Sausage fingers :signLOL:
Is 06f133062q the correct part number? If so there's one on ebay for £35 :happy2:
-
Just checked my eBay from last year: 06F133062Q - Yeap, that's the one, wow they've come down A LOT in price. :happy2:
-
The one I'm looking at is listed for an audi a5 but I suppose they are the same aren't they?
-
Yeah no worries, mine was from an Audi TT.
I'd still have it scanned before buying, but with the serious reduction in power and the traffic lights on the dash, it's more than likely that.
-
Yea might as well get it at that price and keep it for when it does fail
-
Error 16606 throttle position sensor is the code showing. Looks like you were right guys cheers.
-
Nice one, hope you get it sorted, and if it's all done for £35 and some scrapped fingers that's a serious saving. :happy2:
-
What spark plugs you running?
-
Sorted now thanks chaps. It was the throttle body in the end. Sourced one on ebay for £35 delivered :happy2:
Fitting was a bit of a fiddle but not too bad. Thanks for all the help chaps :drinking:
