Right guys I had these fitted to my new bbs vz alloys from rimstyle in March I have done just over 1k miles and the already nearly need changing on the fronts? WHATTT??? I don't drive mad, brake harsh etc no wheel spins or anything like that so why have they gone so fast I'm really p***** off to be honest! I've noticed since fitting my new sound proofing under the bonnet with the silver heatshield that once I stop the car after driving the heat is passing under the wings making the tyres feel quite warm!
Any ideas are they just a pants tyre or is it that heatshield on the sound proofing?
Thanks

Doubt heat has anything to do with it. More likely alignment is WELL out, it's causing your tyres to get chewed up.
Everyone else commenting on this will say the same :happy2:
Any pics of the wear??
-
Those bad ass amps you have up front can play havoc with your tyres...
-
They are wearing evenly, just had it all tracked up after the were fitted to be 100% sure!!!
-
I've had ContiSportContact5's on the front on mine for 14k now - no issues with wear like yours, and that includes two trackdays at Donington.
Something sounds a bit odd - someone been doing burnouts in your car?!
-
Must be!!!!!! I can't understand it il measure them with a tread depth card soon and give details back!
-
Get a pic uploaded if you can?
-
Yeah il upload and stuff tomorrow! Pain in the fudging backside! Oh dear :sad1:
-
Only thing I can think of is maybe the tyre was not genuine.
Did you get them from a reputable shop?
-
Can u get fake branded tires???
-
Can u get fake branded tires???
Well you seem to have fake everything else so why not non-genuine branded tyres.
-
From rimstyle guys!
-
Just to add, tyre pressure is a tyre killer as well , to High will give worn centre section to low will end up worn edges.
Hope this helps
-
Need to get some pics uploaded!
-
I've got these tyres on the front of mine and after 2k miles they still look like new. You must have another problem.
-
Something to do with extra weight on the front end? I would struggle to get threw a set of fronts in less than 5-6k, is the rubber really soft? :surprised:
-
Rubbers just soft :( all pressures are okay and tread depths are in the okay zone of the marker but the rears are well above, as they all should be! Oh well il lock the topic now!
Thanks
-
Theres noway u can burn a set of road tyres out in 1k unless there uneven or ur doing burnouts lol
-
Dunno :sad1: gonna swap the backs and fronts and try and get some even wear!
