I flopped, it was my first time and I forgot to turn the traction control off and didn't get the best launch, also I lost my drivers lisence photo ID card somewhere whilst getting my ticket for a go, then when I got to the line I was told I should have my arms covered so I had to borrow a marshals jumper. It was a pretty sh*t day for me, and with traffic took me 2 1/2 hours to get home.

You need long sleeve shirt to race down the strip?

The arms covered rule is stupid.... as is the 100% helmet rule

I have to agree on the arms covered rule. The helmet rule should really only apply to cars that do over 110mph terminals -like Santa Pod. Then again even 110mph terminals in most cars is just about 100% safe.

Bare in mind you can do 150+ on public roads and the last thing the police would mention is "wheres you helmet?"  :signLOL:

:signLOL: but it would be a bit suspect driving a GTI about with a helmet on

It's pretty obvious though in a high speed crash a long sleeved shirt/ jumper would save your life.......

Absolutely - and if you wear something of quality, you are even more likely to come away uninjured.  :driver:

I think as long as you had something that looked like a helmet, you were ok Dan.  plenty there with open face helmets that looked like the supplied ones.
