Title: Turbo sound...whooosh noise

May be a silly Question, but is the like whoooshing sound normal on acceleration, it used to do it when you lifted off the acclerateor when the plastic DV i think was split, this was repaired and no noise was made, but recently had it looked at and it said it wasn't fitted securely so it is now and it makes this noise...

Again, can't really hear it and clean you car! :P

My Golf does make a noise when under acceleration, like the sound of loads of air being forced into the engine. I think it's normal, I actually enjoy the sound. Think I'm turning into a chav...

Mine has got worse today actually sounds more like in you're video, i think it is diverter valve. I lost a little power today aswell.

Could be wrong though but it does sound like same as mine but i would say mine is a little louder.

I'm going to order one from awsome and get it changed during the week and let you know if it fixes it.

Sounds normal mate, sort of like the sound of a swinging light saber lol, under partial throttle etc. They fluctuate and are neither full open or fully closed.
Learn your car and you can make them flutter and all sorts.
If you have the patience Niki put up a video on Facebook of how the diverter valves work

My car used to do that, the rubber of the diverter valve had all split and was releasing boost

My EML came on today. Plugged my computer in and it basically says its the diverter valve and its making the exact same noise as yours in the video.

Got the dv there changing it on monday night.

£44 from awsome gti for uprated one.
