Title: Brake fluid just been replaced
Post by: Black9 on July 19, 2014, 02:58:59 pm
Just had the fluid replaced on my MK5 GTI. I was pumping the pedal whilst someone else bled out the fluid. Now that I'm driving the car the pedal doesn't feel as firm as it did when the fluid was being drained and also when I press the pedal down it feels slightly squigy and has a few cm of travel...

Does this seem normal or is there possibly some air still in the system?

Brakes feel fairly sharp and the pedal doesn't go anywhere near hitting the floor no matter how hard I press down

That explains it... I've just had it done this afternoon. Should I just leave it
For the time being or book into VW.. Seems a waste of brake fluid and Money though

I'm just not sure if I'm being anal about the pedal feel or not.

I'll maybe have it redone

This is worth a read

However, I need to use a pressure bleeder and do as Scottymon says for the correct pedal feel!
