Title: Mk5 GTI thermostat
Post by: Bennz on July 21, 2014, 10:56:36 pm
Hi all,
Is the thermostat replacement part of service intervals ( recommended age and mileage ) or when it is faulty only?

I'm going to do cambelt and water pump but not sure if the thermostat replacement is necessary ? Car is 2008 and done around 16,000 miles

Martin is right. It's not a consumable

It's a pig of a job to do as well. If it's working fine then leave it alone  :happy2:

Thank you guys , will do per your advice :) just thought might worth doing but if it's only repairable item I leave it as it :) it's working fine now
