Title: Clicking noise from front of car
Post by: Black9 on July 22, 2014, 04:59:10 pm
My cars just developed a clicking noise from the front...

Only happens when I take off and change gear

I've changed the bolts and spacers on the subframe when I got the car, also checked them today and they were tight. Car just went through an mot with no advisories apart from a slight tear in the cv gaitor but no grease has escaped so just seems superficial...

Any ideas?

Sounds like on of your cv joints are knackered mate

Doesn't sound like a Cvs joint to me, full lock on the steering as you drive and if the cv joint is f*cked it will be clicking like mad. Try that

Don't think it's a cv joint..

Driving up the motorway today & I can hear the knocking constantly from the front of my car. Noise increase if I come off the gas & decreases slightly when I apply some throttle. Steering also seems a fair bit less weighted & even tho I've just had new wheels & tyres fitted the car actually feels like it handles worse than before. Doesn't feel great on the Limit of cornering either...

Not had the car checked over yet but I was thinking,

Balljoints
Wheel bearing
Steering rack

Any help appreciated

It's always hard to guess over the internet , try your drop links and roll bar bushes? Best thing is to do is get it jacked up and look/feel for any movement in the ball joints/bushes, check for broken spring and strut bearing etc
