Title: Angelis GTi
Post by: angelis on July 23, 2014, 06:35:18 pm
My 15 year old Honda Accord got written off by a mini bus so needed to find a replacement.

Used to own a mk2 GTi in the 80's, which got stolen, so only now coming back to the gold.

So picked this up today. A 2006 model with 95,000 miles with DSG and flappy paddles. One owner. It was the cheapest one on Autotrader and sold by a car dealer to boot.

Got a few dings and scratches but looks good if you squint and seems to be mechanically sound.

Like to mod my cars a bit, so I suppose over time I'll be doing a few things to it.

First mod are the BBS Pescara wheels.

Before....

After.......

The exhaust tips are really manky. Not sure wether to replace them or just get a new exhaust. I already have one loud car, the neighbours will kill me if I make another one louder.

Autosol works absolute wonders with some fine wirewool, but they might be beyond saving.

Next Job: DV / PCV / CF then map it :)

Just ordered some wire wool so will attempt it over the weekend.

DV = Diverter Valve

What is the PCV and CF?

Just had a big service done on the car. Turns out the cambelt tensioner and the water pump (which was waking) were not VW parts.

Car feels much better now and even in standard form it feels really fast. So much so that it feels faster than my 320bhp Ferrari.

Next, Bilstein B12's, exhaust and remap.

LJK Automotive in Hainault.

The PCV parts that I supplied caused a misfire. Think I may have supplied the wrong ones.
