Just heard this afternoon....
UNIPART Automotive - one of the UK's largest suppliers of car parts and garage equipment - has gone into administration with the loss of more than 1,200 jobs. Surprised that after managing to weather the financial crisis of the past few years that just as things are getting better they're hitting difficulties.
-
yeah, think its in administration, so they might be able to sell bits of it and save some jobs.
from my desk, the Unipart place is just across the road :sad1:
-
Heard it was in trouble a few weeks ago
-
Unipart Rail is going great guns, might just be cutting off parts of the business not pulling their weight. Think they've been under big pressure from Andrew Page.
-
Andrew Pages have bought most of their offices/warehouses

I worked for unipart until last December. It was just a matter of time to be honest. Shame really, because they're a great company to work for
-
Euro car parts are ruining the UK car parts system.
There a huge American company called lkq there in bed with insurance already. There trying to take over pretty much everyone to become the number on supplier.
Then it's only a matter of time till there supplying your dry good, paint and parts in an insurance claim .
Cars over three years old already get non gen parts fitted to them.

Used to use partco a lot years ago, Andrew page is big round where I live now

I hope they don't go under im in love with one of the delivery drivers :ashamed: She makes me go all funny down below

Ouch! What are you saying about my sweetheart

I used unipart for years but the last couple their prices got way to expensive, I changed to a place called dmfx in darlington on the advice of maxitrol, and the difference was huge, by far the best motor factors IMO.
-
I use DMFX for all my stuff for the van. Apart from them always trying to sell me oil when I go for filters they're great. But they'll never beat my prices for oil...

Take it the other parts of Unipart will still be functioning...
