Title: problem at turbo k04
Post by: Markyed30 on July 24, 2014, 07:30:28 pm
Iv been losing coolant now over 6 weeks slowly becoming worse, I checked the flange as people mention on here but nothing then after hunting I noticed fresh oil on the undertray below the turbo so took the undertray off and got underneath looks like a mess around the turbo pipes like alot of coolant leaked then dried
The oil leak must be a day or 2 old if that but can't locate it but in much same area as it's running down the back corner of sump below turbo again

Is the k04 Water and oil cooled??
Mabey I need new hoses or seals??    :scared:

Yep they have oil and water so you need to be checking all the lines around there. If it was me I would clean up the area, let it run on idle, hopefully it will leak and you can see where it’s coming from. I have a camera on a flexi hose so would be shoving that round there rather than risk having hot fluid on my face. They have metal washers as the seals for the banjo bolts so it could also be worth checking they are all tight.
