Title: How to fit Auto Polar Fis + To a MK5 ED30?

Post by: rich83 on July 30, 2014, 12:39:19 am: Its a PITA... You have to remove the compartment below the headlight switch and surrounding trim. Then remove the relay board. Then wrestle with the CAN module to get it out and disconnect. Its worth it. :happy2:

Just squeeze the sides towards each other and open the cubby further then pull out the whole thing.

Post by: Matto on July 30, 2014, 01:43:41 pm: It also depends what year your car is as there are varying locations for the Canbus. I removed the scuttle panel, wipers and wiper mechanism and the cover underneath to gain access. Worth the extra 15 mins not having to wrestle behind the fuse board.

I also fed the cable into the little cubby hole under the light switch to connect to the Polar unit so it can be easily accessed for firmware updates.

Matt I assume you mean an usb cable?

well if mat has done what I have done then he has got the polar lead (that plugs into the polar unit) in the 'cubby hole' and the polar unit resides in there
