Hi Guys,
Some bellend clipped my drivers side mirror on my Mk5 Jetta and broke the indicator, have a new one from the dealers, but any idea how you get the painted cover part off??
Don't want to break it and have to replace that aswell :(
Cheers
Steve

Turn the mirror glass in towards the car as far as it will go (with the adjuster) and then get your fingers under the glass and pop it out!

Not the Glass, The Cover :happy2:
Revealed here anyway:
Done it, but Stealers supplied black version instead of grey :(
Arse!

You have to remove the glass to remove the cover as far as I know.

Literally just removed my mirror cover five minutes ago, it just prises off without the need to remove the glass.

SRC Top Tip: On a cold day, pour hot water over the plastic to make it easier / safer.

I remember joesgti using a flat blade screwdrive to remove his in the distant past. :scared:

I guess that or a crowbar would ultimately work in getting it off
