I left my window open last week and roughly 12,000 dandelions made it into my car and into the area under both seats where the cables for the heated seats and airbag are.
Whilst there I noticed on the passenger side that the airbag switch had been removed and someone had soldered and direct connected the wires for the airbag together. (Green/White/Brown Wires)

Should I be worried about this?
Subsequently the airbag light came on after I barely touched off the connections with the hoover!
I imagine it's safer to go to a dealer and have them refit a new switch and remove airbag light with VAGCOM?
Or will I go at it myself and solder on a new switch? If so does anyone have a part number please?

There is a common issue where the airbag light comes on and it points to that connector, even though its connected. A lot of people have a solution to eliminate the connector and make a direct connection.
