Hi mate its the coaxial cable I need to know what each wire does as I think I have a problem with it.
if you have a problem check each wire with a multimeter
are you getting the message when you select reverse?
-
No no message at all mate I just need to know what each wire does.
-
then you need to post up what your coding is
-
Ok do you know what each one does as my friend as poped up to mine to test them but doesn't know what each wire should be giving him.
-
when I say test them see if there is a break in one of them
you would need some cable and you will have to test them on the plug that plugs into the camera
-
Ok thanks, my friend says do you know what I should be getting at the front he said he could do with a wiring diagram so he knows what each one should be doing. :happy2:
-
the cables carry the RGBs video signal you may find that you can measure a voltage with them but in all honesty unless you have specialist equipment you won't be finding any signals there.
what you actually trying to do, did you remove them to get it through the hatch now don't know where they go back?
-
No mate I did take the blue plug off but that only goes back one way, my mate is a sparky but he just needs the wiring diagram so he knows what each one should be :happy2:
-
well the problem is many different companies will use different coloured cables to send the signal down if you cross reference this link to the pins your cable is connected to you will find which one is red, green, blue, sync and ground

would it be easier just to get another coaxial cable? If it still dont work at least you may be able to sell it on and eliminate that the coaxial is faulty, could be a fault with the camera all along
-
It would if I hadn't of just bought it mate im also thinking of fitting the kenwood unit dnx520vbt which ive just spoke to a kenwood specialist in bradford and there sure they can make me a new plug to fit they just need to know what does what, Help.!!!!
-
They won't be able to make a plug to fit I'm afraid as the output of the VW camera is quite specific to VW, you can however change the rgb camera for a composite video camera still from VW that will work with after market stereos
-
Or right what would that intail, I love how the camera pops out and dont teally want to lose that, he seemed really confident he could aswell he just needed to know what them 5 wires did.
-
Ive bin back on at the chap at kenwood tday and hes adement he can make a plug to make this camera operate with the dnx520vbt, so please lads if any one knows what these 5 wires should have going to them ide really appreciate your help.
-
I've told you what they have going to them, an RGBs signal from the camera.
One wire is red signal, one wire is blue signal, one wire is green signal, one is sync one is ground
-
Sorry mate my mistake, long hours and no sleap , thankyou so much ill let you know how things turn out .
-
Hi do you know the order of the wires on my plug I dont have a red wire either I have orange brown and a thick black and on the other side I have a green then a blue. :happy2:
