Title: One for London transport experts
Post by: Matto on August 11, 2014, 07:26:02 pm
This coming October the Mrs and I have got the week off and looking to do a few things together. I am planning a surprise trip to go see The Lion King at the Lyceum Theatre as I know she has always wanted to go.

I have been looking at stoppin at the Premier Inn at Kings Langley as this is not far from where we need to be the day after and it seem I can pick up the train at Kings Langley to London Euston with London Midland. This is where we get the tube and according to the website from Euston, take the Northern Line to Leicester Square and then the Picadilly Line to Covent Garden.

I'm just wondering if anyone has a better alternative and whats the best way to pay. Trying to work out what zones are what is giving me a headache  :signLOL:

Normally I buy a Travelcard for the week and it's okay - Wouldn't worry about the zones. Go into London all of the time for work and never have any issues.

Would a Travel Card be the cheapest way? Would only need a daily one.

i'd recommend just getting an oyster card each and just using that if your there longer than one day. the all day travelcard i think is about £9, oyster will charge you a cap of £8.40 in zones 1-2, or will just charge you for the one or two journeys you do! better than paying for the full day pass and only using it to go a few stops

enjoy!
