Title: Tracking help..
Post by: TaylorGTi on August 13, 2014, 12:39:36 pm
So had the new tyres fitted with a hunter alignment and my steering wheel is still slightly to the right when going straight and the ams tyre guys are alimentary the hunter alignment is spot on.

To that end I know my drivers side cv joint needs doing so could that be why ?

Sounds like the operator didnt straighten the wheel before adjusting the alignment.

On our new £37k hunter alignment ramp you can set the steering angle sensor up after the alignment is done and straighten the wheel, but in most cases the person who has done it hasn't had the wheel correctly straight so will be out

It could even be the tyres!

Sounds crazy but I have just gone through this myself. AKS have done a full alignment, and on the drive home it was pulling to one side, lived with it for a few weeks, swapped the tyres from one side to the other and it now pulls straight1

Go Figure!
