Okay,
Some may have read I have recently had sachs sintered metal clutch disc and New OEM Dual mass flywheel.
Driving hard in 5th, or dropping 5th to 4th and powering, or 6th to 5th I occassionally get a short judder
and sometimes (once or twice so far) a sliiight quick rise in revs.
I was advised I didnt need the pressure plate, could the judder (please) be the tyre just trying to find grip?
Any stage2+ or higher power drivers experienced this and able to shed any light? I cant afford to prmaturely
wear the new clutch or flywheel and well over a grand for the two fitted... :(
Thanks in advance

i take u have ragged it from day one? i have been gentle with mine and done track days on it with no probs at all, but i did put a new pressure plate on at the same time. Have u spoken to Mat at vwr about it?
-
they do take some time to bed in too so its best to be gentle for a few miles after fitting
-
I see, done about 600 miles since fitting with an occasional drop of the gear and hard acceleration. Wasn't really advised on it not being good to go without bedding in. Should I be ok if I stick to the stock map for the next 1000miles and bed it in?
How long would it normally take??
-
they are good from day one mate but i would think its just wheel spin your having or crap tyres maybe and have u done this with tc on or off?
-
TC on mate, good year assymetrics, admitedly towards the end of thier life and worn on the inner edges (having GEO next month when fitting WALK)
-
Yeah mine are just about shot now and mine will spin in boots if dropping down in this damp wheather. Get some new boot on and see how it goes after walk is fitted
-
Makes sense, take it easy, new tyres and then boot it se what happens. Just felt 5th was a high gear to get wheel spin :S
-
You could just put a pressure plate on when it's in for the diff as u might aswell while the box is out

Thats the plan. On the other hand will an uprated pressure plate put extra stress on my DMF??
-
In pump map tonight, 3rd 4-5k revs into 4th propper slipped :(
-
try pulling the boost back on revo by just 1 click to see what happens
-
its an apr car :( Stock map or pump map...
-
mmm i think cohiba off here had that map and he had the same probs as u after his clutch was done so he had the uprated pressure plate fitted at vwr. send him a pm as i think he has changed maps now
