Car yesterday not driving right
Today changed dv rev g
Running spot on!!!
Why has this dv valve gone in 4 months
-
It did have the d on there !
With the new g one car goes like it supposed to, but how long will this valve last lol
-
Rev G fitted on my K03 yesterday and all good!
How long it lasts is another question!
Strangely mine had rev G on there already which was split but original owner tells me that been on car since car was new in 2007! So how long has rev G been about as Vw parts guy also told me reg G is correct for my 57 plate Gti too!
-
Hope I don't have to change again
Can't believe how much they make a difference in power !!
-
I think we all need to do a group buy on dv valves !!!
-
 Well, we're all screwed then.
I've had 3 rev.G's 1 rev.C and 1 Rev.D the Rev.D pulls hard, the others physcially failed on me.
Standard or mapped car mate? :happy2:
Surely Rev G should last a while on a standard car running 12 psi boost
-
My car is re-mapped but I've had dv + rev d and now back to g
-
What's a twin scroll ko4 mate ??
-
Today after replacing the dv vale, the car drove so effortlessly and smooth it was a joy to drive I just hope it carry on like that lol
-
G will be fine up to stage 2+ but treat them like a service item as they work in extreme heat. The D leak from new but still work better than leaking C or G.
-
How long should this dv last
-
Totally agree :signLOL:

.
I honestly believe there are A LOT of GTI's out there with torn DV's and the owners just think the car is slow.
+1 was thinking this earlier
Id estimate atleast half the Gti on the road are in need of new DV
-
Vw must be making a fortune on selling dv calves lol

Vw must be making a fortune on selling dv calves lol
By all accounts the parts desk don't know what the f*ck they are!
It's not unlikely, owners are booking them in for a problem, VW scan it, seeing it's the DV, changing it out and charging the customer £200+VAT
Totally agree I bet a lot of people being overcharged over this simple change
-
Just get a GFB DV+ fitted, no diaphragm to fail and works better than either stock parts.
-
Standard gti here, is it worth changing? Think mine is stock and done 79k
how easy is it to change? Any guides? Tempted to book it in at the indy
-
Change it mate, the difference is unbelievable :driver:
-
My KO3s been running the original rev A since new in 2005 without any issues. Stock engine tho
My KO4 ran the original rev G since 2007 without issues and REVO software most of its life without needing replaced
Not sure why some fail and others don't
-
Maybe if your cars modded than ,
I'm on stage 1
This is probably why it's killing the dv? :fighting:

DV+ is twice the price of an OEM DV and has been proven to leak (although more so on K04 setups).
Rev G is still the best. May be cheaper to buy a DV relocation pipe and a new OEM rev G DV and have the reassurance that it should last well and not leak :happy2:
-
So i have stage 2 apr software, full miltek turbo back and neuspeed CAI. I last changed my DV bout 3 1/2 years ago. Which revision would people recommend? Mines feeling a bit sluggish at the mo so its the cheapest and quickest thing to try and replace 1st in a whole list of bitty bits of crap that could be failing.
-
Rev D ko3
Rev G ko4
-
After asking advice in another thread I've gone rev g on my standard gti.
What a difference if a bit fiddly to get at.
Will be checking at each oil service now i think.
-
I find with my car when I do lots of city driving the car becomes sluggish, so I do throttle reset and it makes a good difference.

How do you do that?
-
Yes whats this throttle reset you speak of
-
This is what I do :
Turn on the ignition ( don't start the engine) and wait all lights stop flashing , then
Floor the gas pedal
Hold it for 30 sec then let it off ( for some it could work when you keep holding the the gas pedal, turn off the ignition then release the pedal)
This is different to the method which you can reset the throttle (ECU) via vagcom

Youd better get the revision D it will hold fine from stock to ko4 more then that go with a forge Dv or gfb Dv+
