Wife wants a new car and the engine choice is between a non-aspirated 1.6l engine and the ecoboost one.
Anyone have personal experience with the ecoboost engine and willing to share their thoughts? I can't get a test drive in one as countrywide there are only two demonstrators showing on the data base atm.
Any recommended Ford forums I should be viewing?

My mum has the 1.0l ecoboost in her fiesta. It acts like a much larger engine but needs to be rev'd quite a bit to get it going. I quite like it though. She gets 42mpg-ish, driven between the motorways and lake district

Thanks for your insight. :happy2:
Is your mum's car a manual or automatic?

Manual, 5 speed

I think its the lakes that kills it. Lots of gear changes, braking and hills!

Daughters boyfriend (ex) bought a Fiesta last year and I said I'd buy him a set of alloys for it. I joined a load of Fiesta forums, and I couldn't understand what they were talking about half the time. Seems the mental age of the Ford Fiesta owner is somewhere about 5 - 6 years old, and all they were interested in was how much weight they could add to their car while making it look as sh*te as possible. Y'know, kinda like uk mkivs and the billed fred section....
I didn't find a decent Fiesta forum, but I seem to recall the Ford Owners Club forum was a better place.

Get yourself over to FocusSToc.com some very knowledgable guys similar to on here, but a few of them will have come from the lesser focus ZetecS and titanium 1.0t ecoboost.
My 2.0 ecoboost is very good on long runs but has to be feathered round around town to get decent mpg. I think the focus 1.0 ecoboost gets a different gearbox to the fiesta due to weight and other factors, best to probably try one I'm sure if you go to one of these big car factors like car people and the like they'll have some thing with the engine your looking for.

I had one as a courtesy car and it was OK... just drove it like I stole it.. would happily do 100 and for a little town car in this day and age that should be commended.
Did 54mpg over the day.

Chap I know has just bought a 1.6 one. Here's the thread.

Before ordered the fiesta ST180 with the 1.6 ecoboost I did a 100 mile test route. The first half i drove it like it was stolen and the other half I drove normally and averaged 42mpg. I then did the same on my ST250 with the 2.0 ecoboost after and averaged 24 mpg.
Id imagine this 1.0 ecoboost would easily push 50mpg+ all day long

I'm currently getting 26mpg but usually see anywhere from 19-34mpg strangely enough the higher of the 2 is usually when my wife drives it :sad1:

Non aspirated. I'm not sure that's even going to run. :surprised:
