Title: Cold Air Feeds In Fog Grills
Post by: Callum45 on August 17, 2014, 03:17:38 am
Looking to fit some cold air feeds to my car and plan to run them through the fog cover.

Does anyone have any pictures of some fitted and links to the ones they have used, thanks

I removed the boxed item at the grill and the tapered bit that is clamped to the rigid plastic. I the fitted 80mm cold air tube to the tapered bit bring the tapered bit forward against the original intake = works a treat. I 'll throw up a photo later.....

Steve.

Would you not just use open air vents, or am I missing something?

I like the open vents , but I also like the look of the ducting feed , I need to do one of them but not sure which route to go down .

Open vents on the fogs don't actually cool anything. Air needs to be specifically directed to where you want it to cool, hence the tubes.

Open air vents + ducting to the air filter element and/or brakes is a win/win.

I have removed my fog lights and fastened ducting from behind the fog opening

Cable tied to the screw holed that the fogs screwed into

As Mike says, run ducting from grill to CAI and/or brakes.

Pic of mine fitted in the above post, removed pic and engine bay pic below. Remove fog light to fit as its too tight then after ducting put into place then refit fog light.

i should imagine that you can pick up that sort of piping from B&Q and the likes. Good find though. I quite like this mod, although am not running a CAI just yet.

Reason I asked is I've been to B&Q and Homebase, literally nothing that will work, looked for ducting / pipework in electrical and plumbing.

Ok cheers Dan, I will just take a chance on something off ebay, hopefully it's not too wide etc.

Get some ducting from ebay. I used RAM AIR ducting 100mm x 1000mm. I also used a air funnel (see build thread), also ebay and same size or VERY close in size will be fine.

Remove fog light to allow access and slightly squash tubing to fit....job done.

Thanks man, that's pretty much what I've ordered. I went with the 80mm x 500mm, hopefully it's just about long enough!

Quick Thursday evening mod. Just about long enough. Went for a spin and I actually think it helps the Revo CAI breath hidden behind the front light.
