Probably the wrong forum for this but I'm just venting a bit of frustration!
I've been in discussions today with a BMW dealer about buying an X3. I was looking to part-ex my 530d M-Sport Touring with 67k miles on it, it's a standard spec with auto LCI model in Sterling grey with a grey leather interior. There are 2 previous owners and it's a full service history. I was offered 8k as part exchange with no room for manoeuvre. I paid 13995 for it 18 months ago!
After scouting about on Auto Trader I was hoping for around 10k. Am I dreaming?!

What year is the E60 5'er?
2007-2010 I'm guessing?
You're probably not dreaming on the realistic valuation, but you perhaps are if you think a dealer in a part/ex will give you anywhere near that kind of price. Minus around £2k off of any market value, and that's nearer what they'll be offering.
Check what it's worth with a few freebie valuations - start here http://www.wisebuyers.co.uk/motoring/used-car-prices/BMW/
...And work out an average from there :happy2:

You will always get offered rock bottom price on a trade in.

Depends on the dealer, and how much they want to sell your model of car. I was given 21k for my golf R which I paid 22k for 12 months previous, and they eventually only sold it for 22k
