Title: AUX / USB input help
Post by: fazi123 on August 18, 2014, 06:00:58 pm
Hi guys,

Im looking to get an RNS510 / RCD510 in the coming weeks. It all depends whether I can justify the need for a satnav as I use my phone for it anyway.

Anyway the question I wanted to ask was whether the following parts were compatible with the 2 of them?

Thanks,
Faz

aux will work & the usb won't as the rns won't have the plug on the rear.

Hi,

Thanks for this. Which of them cables would I need? I think I will need a glovebox kit as I have no armrest.

Also would i be able to have an Aux input like the one I linked to aswell as one of the MDI kits?

Cheers,
Faz

You can also get an MDI lead with a 3.5mm jack (i.e. headphone) as well...

For example: http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/230818632934?_trksid=p2055119.m1438.l2649&ssPageName=STRK%3AMEBIDX%3AIT

Not sure if this is oem though?

Thanks for all the responses guys. I have decided Im going to get one of Demon666's glovebox MDI kits in a week or so's time (provided he has some left).

I do have a question - When installed am I able to change the interface cable easily? or do I have to go ripping out the dash and changing it back there?

I would like the IPOD lead, and definately a USB lead and possible an 3.5mm lead like Furby has linked to above.

Thanks,
Faz
