Title: Res or Non-res?
Post by: samiul11 on August 18, 2014, 11:08:17 pm
Hi, recently bought a gti and im in love with it  it came with a r32 style milltek catback system  only problem is that i dont know if its resonated or non-resonated although it does seem abit quite to me...is there anyway of finding out?

And yes i have asked the dealer whom i bought the car from and all they could tell me was that its a sports exhaust system  :fighting:

Btw loving this forum

Strange how underwriters favour miserable, misanthropic, curmudgeonly old b@stards over the youth of today.

Try snapping a pic when it's up on the lift. I ran mine reso-less when my exhaust was stock and it sounded better keeping only the rear muffler on. I just had a muffler shop cut it out and add a section of pipe in its place. I now run a full turboback, catless, and only a single Borla can on it...music to the ears!

Being old is grand when it's insurance paying time. I pay $400usd/yr for full coverage  :happy2:

I was 19 when I got my GTI (7 months ago) and I paid £1250 for insurance, but 12 months before that I paid £1190ish for a 54bhp 1.2 skoda fabia and 12 months before that I paid £3000 for the skoda with a black box in the car and a 6000 mile annual limit  :stupid:

Just have a look under mate at the exhaust you will be able to tell if it has one box or two. Saves taking it to a garage will only take 10 seconds.

Most cat backs are quiet you need a full system to liven it up

Yes mate will be resonated, are u sure it hasnt got a full system on anyway?

Just get a no res section put in and see how you go from there.
