Just a question how often do people empty there catch cans as I was told they need emptying now and then??
-
Depends on how you drive your car i.e. miss daisy or pedal to the metal guy, mileage covered and the outside temperature.
If you drive like miss daisy then you'll have less liquid in the catch can vs pedal to the metal all the time.
For practical usage I would check/empty every 2k miles and depending on what volume you collect and alter the mileage interval accordingly.
-
How would one go about doing this?
-
What type of catch can is it? The Forge one looks quite easy to empty. Couldn't comment on any others
-
Forge catch can drive casuall on work days and days off :driver: lol

Take it off and theres a bolt on the bottom.. You dont want it overfilling if its been a while

I missed this. I've never emptied mine and I'm at 60,000miles.
Can't find any how to's..... Is it easy enough to take off. I imagine I can see the bolts securing it in position yes?
I'd go check myself but car is in getting service right now.

may be a silly question, but have you fitted a catch can? its not a standard fit piece of equipment. . .

Just to confuse matters  what's the black box to the top left of the canister next to the washer fluid?
