Hi guys, had a 2007 GTI (32k on the clock) for a few months now and wondering if I have a boost leak. Before I bought mine I drove a mates standard gti and loved how hard it pulled, fast forward to buying mine and over the last few weeks I have been wondering if I have a boost leak. When I drive the car hard boost doesn't kick in strongly until after 3-3.5k revs and feels slightly laboured getting to that point. I changed my diverter valve for a newer rev G last week and felt a slight improvement but dunno if it was in my head or not. I bought an app that can read data from my obd port and it tells me that when I am accelerating hard in second and third boost is 17-18 psi. Is this normal ? Any advice or things to check would be greatly appreciated, I might be just being paranoid but people on here talk of being put in their seat at 2.5k revs :sad1:

I think stock boost peaks at about 14-15psi.

Yeah i dont think a standard GTI runs 17-18PSI, either the app is in accurate, or you have a dodgy map on the car.

Standard gti surely don't run 18psi standard. Stage 1 mapping is around 22psi.
Think they run around 10psi boost iirc
