Do you have a link to the website? We've been looking to get one of these for the R.
-
This is what Mike @ Kleen Freaks told me...
Not a problem buddy we are going to list them all on the shop www.kleenfreaks.bigcartel.com from next weekend so you will be able to order from their. We are keeping this initial offer open for 2 weeks and then it will close and all the units ordered. The gauges are roughly £180 plus £7.95 delivery as these will only be sent out next day special delivery.
-
I'll be getting one of these.
-
That looks very classy and OEM :happy2:

Any reason why you don't want another Polar box Mandy?

Been looking at one of these myself.. Love how flush they are with the vent compared to the newsouth one's.. Is it possible to get these with different colour text on the display's though? as I'm thinking about also upgrading my midline clocks to the white r32 highline which will also match with the rcd510 white text display..

Says colours are an option on Kleen Freaks FB where I first saw the offer... https://www.facebook.com/kleenfreaks/photos/a.158232217597526.40969.156387001115381/674721235948619/?type=1&theater

I like the look of these, should look quite smart in the vent I think. Hopefully will be easier to install than the Polar boxes too.
-
The R colouring is mega!

They will be on the website in the next day or so
They have been at edition 38 this weekend and haven't had a moment to put them on, but have been told that they will be done with in the next day or so :happy2:
-
Just bought one for my A6
Been looking at getting one for a while
They're a subtle unit that offers a good range of data display and functionality
-
So same as a liquid gauge, but way better looking?
Quite fancy one myself
-
I am told Tuesday now at the latest :happy2:
-
I've looked at these before. How accurate is the boost if you get the standard version without the Analog Boost Sensor?

So what colour is the standard one then? And what's the benefit of the boost sensor, does it just make the boost reading more accurate?
-
Standard one is red, the one pictured on the website is the blue/white optional one

All red like on the first page and as far as I understand it’s more accurate, as the OBD only updates at a fixed rate from what I have read :happy2:
This is the other colour option to blue and white...

Cheers, very tempted by one of these, might have to lock the cards away to stop myself, already been a bit naughty with my spending this month, and last month and the one before, I'm starting to see a pattern here :signLOL:

If you want it mainly as a boost gauge then I would get a proper "analog" one.
-
These are now in the UK... Hopefully have them for the weekend

^^^^ Keep me updated when they are available for sale. Cheers.

Yes! Can't wait to get my hands on it and install this puppy

These where on an introductory offer dude, there was an order window of 2 weeks and then they got shipped from America. In regards to your pm I just gave people on here a heads up, I have nothing to do with the actual sales of the gauges so if you want one I suggest you speak to Kleen Freaks. :happy2:

Got ours through today and fitted. Looks good and fits well, the blue blends in well too. The display is a tad bright at night though, anyone know how to connect the dimmer cable?

Had a quick go of the 0-60 function too, it was fun lol! :driver:
-
@Mandy (http://www.mk5golfgti.co.uk/forum/index.php?action=profile;u=1310) , press and hold the right button for 3 sec
That'll dimthe unit nicely
-
@Mandy (http://www.mk5golfgti.co.uk/forum/index.php?action=profile;u=1310) this is a pretty comprehensive guide including dimmer wiring...

Installed mine today But can't seem to connect the obd2 connector properly. Can someone with this installed take a picture so I can see how far in the connection goes before I end up breaking something please?
-
Obd are a notoriously loose connection. You don't get that click noise you usually hear from a typical connection.
If you have or know someone who does have one of those obd adapters plug it in and the light will come up to show its connected.
If you don't see the light you might have a broken obd
-
It turns on but nothing works. i.e boost, coolant temp etc.. boost just stays at -26 and doesn't move, coolant temp stops on 0 as does the others. The only one that works is the battery. So I'm guessing it's not connected properly. So would like to see a picture of someone's connected to the obd2 to see if mines pushed in far enough or not.

It's working fine, you need to set it up
If your car has a remap it needs putting on a certain channel, the boost needs setting to what you'd like it to read in, bar or psi, like wise the coolant, deg c or deg f
So on and so forth
If you read the set up instructions online it will guide you though it
It's not difficult to do
The leaflet that comes in the box does clearly say to look at the online setup guide
Here is the configuration guide for vw/Audi :
http://www.p3cars.com/content/pdf/vag-config.pdf
Hope it helps, if you're struggling further pm me and I'll give you my mobile number and I'll walk you through it tomorrow

@STV4R (http://www.mk5golfgti.co.uk/forum/index.php?action=profile;u=9131) Got it working yet dude? Like NotNormal said you need to change the settings. Like the default engine is TSI so that needs changing to TFSI :happy2:
-
Still not working
-
Think I'll get one ordered next week
-
So, it turns out they sent me the wrong one for my car. 2006+ and my car is a 2005. They are now sending me out a new chip "free of charge"
Fingers crossed that when it arrives it works :happy2:
-
They don't ship outside uk...thats poor..

They do! I was speaking to the owner there. £12.75 registered post
I was saying to him that a couple of us in Ireland might be interested which would lower the shipping cost. You in?

These are back up for sale now on kleen freaks, but now at £220 a pop!
An extra £10 if ya wanna change the colour and £25 for the boost gauge.
Then another £7.95 for postage.
Seems expensive now, for that reason I'm out!

Saw this last night... Shame really it's like they got a few over cheap to get the word out and then conveniently increase the price for the second lot, once more people started wanting them.
-
We've noticed that the P3 gauge is interfering with the DAB, can't get any signal when the P3 is installed. Unplug it and DAB will work fine again. Anybody have any idea how to get around this? :rolleye:
-
Finally got mine fitted. Looks and functions well.
Those with mk5 gti that are mapped, how do you have your configuration set up, car.0 or car.1, and bst.f or bst.d?
http://www.p3cars.com/vag-install
I only ask as I'm using car.0 and bst.f right now as I'm running rtech st1 and boost is reading 21.7 on full throttle and vacuum -20.5 when coasting...
Cheers.
-
Car 0, bSt.f for me! But from what I have read on the forums the f setting was made for the APR flashes to get them reading correctly, which suits me down to the ground

So in general, for the people that have already installed these, do they think theyre worth the money? or is the polar fis a better option?
-
So in general, for the people that have already installed these, do they think theyre worth the money? or is the polar fis a better option?
I'm more than happy with mine... In regards to a comparison though I can't compare as I only have Midline clocks, so I would of had to upgrade them first before I could get a polar box which would have made things costly. Pretty sure @Mandy (http://www.mk5golfgti.co.uk/forum/index.php?action=profile;u=1310) has had both though :happy2:
-
Loving mine, particularly like the oem look n feel and responsiveness of it
-
The Polar box does have a lot lot more parameters compared to the P3 but is harder to install and required me to take my windscreen wipers etc off to install it, wipers never worked the same again which I found annoying. P3 just plugs into the OBD port so much easier and the digital display looks good in the air vent. I chose the P3 primarily for the 0-60 function, but I believe the newer Polar may have this function too? With the Polar I didn't understand most of the numbers anyway so I don't feel like I need it in the R.
-
Yep. Polar does xxx -xxx acceleration timing all programmable.

I went for the polar, easy to install, well impressed with features, cant believe I didn't buy one years ago :stupid:
-
Received my new chip the other day, swapped them round this morning and now all is working good
-
The P3 is down on parameters compared to the Polar FIS, but can be used without having the MFA+ and on the Audi's that Polar FIS don't support yet
