Title: Mk5 gti window smashed and mirror destroyed

Some f***** has smashed my mates driver side door mirror and window with glass all over the inside of the car. My mate was lucky and nothing has happened to him.  He was driving inside his lane not near the white lines and as you can gather the other driver must have obviously known what he has done but has drove off without any care. Anyone know how much it will cost for a door mirror and window? Anywhere he can get them at a good price, what about the ones on fleebay?

Google VW breakers yard, they'll bound to have something. Also danoy on here is breaking a Golf GTI, message him and see.

Look for a local breaker yard, go on ebay or speak with Danoy breaking a gti. The glass should be available for a 3dr.

Alright cheers for that guys. Cos all the garages are closed he has no idea how much its going to cost to fit the window, anyone got any ideas?

I am breaking a gti

fitting glass is easy you have to remove the outer door skin about 15 bolts then its easy you can see all the bolts

if your worried about scratching it then use masking tape

I have blue glass from a 4 plate gti and I have a complete mirror

not sure on the window price from a dealer but eurocarparts sell the mirror glass for around £25

I would sell the glass and the mirror for £50
